Cyber insurance has been around for the past two decades and has picked up steam in recent years as the rate of ransomware attacks and other online threats has proliferated. Many organizations consider cyber insurance to be a critical component of their cybersecurity strategy.

Unfortunately, many organizations seem to be using cyber insurance as a way to protect themselves without substantially improving their cybersecurity programs.

 

Insurance premiums have increased by as much as 40% in the wake of recent ransomware attacks. As premiums rise so does the price of ransom attackers are willing to charge.
